Project Introduction

Dunhuang is an international tourist city and a strategic location on the Silk Road located at the intersection of Gansu, Qinghai and Xinjiang provinces. With various political frameworks calling for international collaborations in China, such as the “Belt and Road Initiative” and “Expanding Import Quota”, the Gansu Cultural Tourism Group has joined hands with the Ausmate Group in operating a wholly owned International Exhibition and Trading Center at the tourism hub in Dunhuang. The establishment aims to introduce quality brands and manufacturers from Australia, South Korea and other overseas countries to the wholesale and retail chains in China while assisting Chinese suppliers with export prospects around the globe. The Trading Center exhibits selected import and export products and provide a range of commercial services which effectively covers over five provinces in Western China (Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Xinjiang and Qinghai), and channeling wholesale, retail, business matching and project investment opportunities for the local consumers, domestic and foreign tourists and companies.

Ausmate Group

The Ausmate Group co-operates the commercial management of the Trading Centre via its local subsidiary, the Gansu Aushang Lianzhong Trade Co., Ltd. Aushang is responsible for event planning, bilateral import and export customs clearance, business matching and trade management working in conjunction with Ausmate’s branches in China, Australia, South Korea and other regions. The ultimate goal is to attract and consolidate the political and commercial institutions and business resources from China, Australia and Korea into business leads and opportunities for all project participants.

Gansu Culture and Tourism Group

The propitiatory and commercial operation of the Trading Centre is managed by Dunhuang Wenbo Investment Company Limited, a subsidiary of the Gansu Culture and Tourism Group, which was jointly funded by seven key provincial state-owned enterprises in December 2016, with a registered capital of RMB 1 billion (asset of RMB 3.2 billion), and responsible for asset management of the two major venues in Dunhuang – Dunhuang International Exhibition Center and Dunhuang Grand Theatre respectively.

The Trading Centre joins hands with the Cultural Industries Fair, inviting government agencies and cultural/education institutions around the world for short-term participation and long-term residency.
