On Friday the 26th of October, Ausmate, in conjunction with the NSW Business Chamber, hosted a roundtable event for prospective clients to learn more about the Chinese market as a destination for their products. Amongst the 8 different businesses that attended were a range of different industries being represented. From alcoholic beverages to health beverages and snack foods to baby foods, there was an abundance of diversity across some of Australia’s most exciting consumer products.
Representing Ausmate at the event were COO, West Du and Sales Director, Lukas Cole. The NSW Chamber of Commerce, who hosted the event at their North Sydney office, were represented by two of their China practices’ most senior employees, Sara Cheng and Richard Xiong.
After the initial meet and greet, the NSW Business Chamber presented the attendees a brief introductory video and presentation outlining the role that they play in assisting Australian producers enter the Chinese market.
After which, the floor was opened up to the attendees to query a range of topics and direct any questions they had to either Ausmate or the NSW Business Chamber. Common issues that affected a lot of the suppliers such as organic registrations, new e-commerce laws and pricing were addressed throughout this period. All in all, the roundtable event was a success, with many of the suppliers stating that the experience was worthwhile and many others stepping up their interest in entering the Chinese market over the next year.
